What are What are Community Development Block Grants?
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are federal funds (HUD) allocated by the Oklahoma State Department of Commerce. These grants are implemented with the objective of providing assistance to low and moderate income communities.
What does CDBG fund and who is eligible?
CDBG grants are awarded to cities, towns and counties for water and wastewater construction and engineering, community revitalization and to meet other community development needs. All eligible entities must meet low to moderate income requirements as required by HUD.
Is there a grant award maximum?
2014 CDBGs were awarded in the amount of up to $150,000.00 for community revitalization and up to $350,000.00 for water or sewer construction projects. Successful applicants are encouraged to provide matching funds.

What are CDBG/REAP Grants?
The CDBG/REAP grant program was developed in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to make a greater impact on each district by matching CDBG funds and REAP dollar for dollar on eligible projects. Projects must be both REAP and CDBG eligible. Eligible projects include but are not limited to water, sewer, solid waste, fire protection, streets, housing demolition, senior citizen centers, gas and electrical system improvements, handicap access, storm water improvements and economic development activities.
Is there a grant award maximum?
Grand Gateway has a maximum Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) award of $50,000 in the case of CDBG/REAP. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce would match the REAP award for a total of $100,000. Funds are always based on availability.
