Funding for the Community Expansion of Nutrition Assistance (CENA) program is made available by the Oklahoma legislature through an annual appropriation to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. The purpose of this program is to increase the number of meals served to seniors at the senior centers. The program allows senior centers to repair and replace broken kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, ADA upgrades, fix leaking roofs and provide other needed small capital improvements.

Grand Gateway EDA utilizes the Area Agency on Aging for distribution to eligible senior center applicants. The funds are used to enhance the nutritional needs of senior citizens through the purchase of food, insurance, payment of utilities, maintenance and purchase of equipment, transportation and food preparation.
