National Family Caregiver Support Program

The  National Family Caregiver Support Program provides a range of supportive services that assist family and informal caregivers in caring for loved ones at home. Grand Gateway’s services include:

  • Information to caregivers about available services

  • Assistance to caregivers in gaining access to the services

  • Respite services – providing temporary relief to caregivers by providing caregivers in the home

Caregivers are defined as people of any age caring for someone 60 years of age or older who need assistance with two Activities of Daily Living (dressing, bathing, eating, transferring, toileting or walking) or require supervision due to cognitive impairment, such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Also served with the three services listed above are grandparents or other relatives 55 and over caring for children under the age of 18.

Additional information and resources are provided in the attachments below and in the Caregiver section of the Information and Assistance Resource Directory.
