Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO) Director


Transportation Planner

Grand Gateway EDA is accepting resumes for a full-time highly motivated, skilled, self-starting professional to fill the key position of Transportation Planner. The primary responsibility grant writing, providing support for long-range plan writing and planning activities, assisting in research studies, data gathering and analysis, undertake public outreach programs and assist in preparing planning documents. Also responsible for coordinating regional meetings for transportation planning activities. The ideal candidate will have high standards for detail and accuracy, as well as be innovative and resourceful. Written and oral communications are a key component as this position requires regular contact with representatives of local, state and federal government agencies, policy and/or advisory committees, consultants and other public and private organizations in the region. Some travel will be required. Eligible candidates will have minimum requirements is a Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills. Salary will be $36,000 to $44,000 annually. Grand Gateway is an equal opportunity employer.

GIS Specialist

Grand Gateway EDA is seeking a creative, talented GIS specialist for immediate employment. The GIS Specialist will engage in mapping activities typically related to community infrastructure projects, The specialist will conduct production tasks with potential to work on a wide range of projects. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • GIS analysis and map production for community, county and regional projects
  • Database administration and design using both geospatial and non-spatial data
  • Perform GPS field work to collect data for use in GIS
  • Produce quality maps and tabular outputs for presentations
  • Present maps and GIS data/analysis to staff, management, communities and partner agencies

Qualifications


B.S. Degree with course work in computer science/programming and geography or related field. four years related GIS mapping experience, or a combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge and experience in Esri products including ArcGIS
  • Familiar with GIS production environments
  • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
  • Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well with government and community partners.

 

Starting salary of $42,000 - $50,000 with an excellent compensation and benefits package, and a cohesive team oriented flexible working environment.
